General Rules (click here)

All exhibitors agree to be bound by rules and regulations of the Juniata County Agricultural Society. Any exhibitor may be required to prove ability to reproduce entry in any department in the presence of a qualified person.

Superintendents reserve the right to bar from competition animals, vegetables, flowers, poultry products, manufactured articles of decidedly inferior quality and those not possessing sufficient merit to warrant recognition. The fair reserves the right to remove any exhibit not worthy of viewing by the public.

The management reserves the right to amend or add to those rules as the Executive, Fair or Livestock Committee in their judgment may determine.

Reasonable care will be taken to protect all exhibits on display from all injury and damaged but the Society is not in any way to be held responsible for accidents, loss or damage by water, fire, theft or otherwise, whatever may be the cause or extent of the damage or loss.

Entries will be made according to classification and premiums will be paid in the classes as published.

Premiums shall be given for meritorious exhibits. In case there is no competition, the judges may give the award the exhibitor is worthy to receive. Unworthy exhibits will be barred from competition. The decisions of the judges will be final.

All entries must have been grown, produced or made since the last fair by the person whose name appears on the tag as exhibitor. If entries are to be limited to residents of the county, or to a specified area, this must be stated in the fair's premium book or tabloid under the rules section.

Exhibitors may enter only one exhibit of a kind. Exhibitors living on the same farm or in the same household, may not compete against each other with similar exhibits, except 4-H and vocational classes and all livestock.

All exhibits in vocation classes by FFA members must be selected from home projects in agriculture, being a part of their course in Vocational Agriculture in High School.

Exhibits in 4-H classes may be made only by regularly enrolled club members and only from their project work.

All communications shall be addressed to the Juniata County Fair, 308 West 8th Street, Port Royal, PA 17082

Food products cannot be treated with any substance that causes them to become poisonous and unfit to be used for consumption. Any such incidents must be reported to the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Program for further review.
