The Line

Hey, Sienna! I'm waiting in line for the new jPhone!

You mean queue.

What?

You're waiting in a queue. First in, first out. Not a line. A line extends forever in both directions.

Maybe this is a line.

Why do we call them lines? They often aren't even linear, but instead wind around the entire building. But my kids are tired of being corrected after referring to them as lines at Disney World.

So let's talk about data structures! A queue is a First In First Out, or FIFO, structure. A stack is a Last In First Out structure. A queso is a Nacho In Nacho Out structure.
