I was never sure how to pronounce "degauss" when I read it on my monitor. I was also never sure how to pronounce "Degas" when I read it on an impressionist painting. I am fairly certain, however, that they are not the same thing.

The pictures Science Frog cycles through in the third frame are some of Edgar Degas's famous works. The crazy effect (looks best in Chrome, by the way) is supposed to remind you of degaussing a monitor.
