Retest

That last build you sent me to test still had the issue I found last week. And now I've found a new issue!

You caught another one! Great! I'll get a new build out right away!

Wait, are you just giving me new releases of the software without actually fixing the problems?

It's called Catch and Release.

If you increment the release number, the software testers might not notice that you didn't actually fix the bugs. Or at least it will buy you some time before they re-test it. I'm not say that I've ever done this, but I'm not saying that I haven't done it.
